This project is a Telugu restaurant with a focus on Andhra and Telangana cuisine. There are several initiatives taken by the company to promote a
greener environment- such as giving away a free plant and vegetable seeds and the option to buy potted plants for their customers. This project was executed with a rigorous attention to detail, from the larger holistic aesthetic to the finer aspects of product design.
Elements of the local heritage and handicrafts is apparent throughout the design with the incorporation of Pembarthi brass kalashas for the lighting, Pochampalli fabric for the blinds, coloured mud pots used for green walls, teakwood and use of local stones such as Kadapa and Tandur.
The attention to detail employed in these elements, such as the yellow tile flooring with vernacular patterns celebrates the local culture in a thoughtful way.
Another key element of the design was the green partition units.
The presence of the potted plants also facilitates an ever changing experience of the space as they grow and change with time.
The separator typically raises from the floor but doesn’t touch the ceiling, thereby allowing the sense of the larger space to persist, encouraging the curiosity of a first-time visitor. They create virtual private pockets that are still visibly connected.
These units not only integrate easy to maintain green elements into the space but also seek to promote the brand value of the company.
These green wall separators are made using 400 potted plants stacked in multiple rows with task light above them providing enough light for their photosynthesis.
