The client wanted an interesting space that aligned with a very specific narrative centered on the brand and its identity.
The concept was based on a newspaper taken around the city by a fat, lazy pigeon to disseminate news about the bar, giving the bar its name.
The idea was to give customers varied choices and experiences in the same space so they can bar hop without actually leaving the bar.
Aamchi Cafe is the quiet sit-down dinner zone, while Double Decker is the indoor bar with an island bar as the focal point drawing all attention.
This space has an acoustic wall at the far end of the room. As all the speakers in this room face this wall, it was imperative for the wall to be acoustically treated with sound cancellation taking priority over sound absorption.
This unique acoustic paneling gives the wall both a functional, as well as an aesthetic character. An I-Section beam was used as a barricade to ensure the sharp edges of the blocks are safe for customers, making this beam a platform for standing groups to place their drinks.
The next section of the bar is the spacious amphitheater called Drama. This open-air space is a perfect backdrop for live screenings of matches, stand-up shows, musical performances, and more.
Overall, the design ensures each space within Fat Pigeon has its own unique character and experiential quality while staying true to the overarching brand narrative and customer preferences.
